Meet Monique
My name is Monique J Huff and I am running for my second term as Judge of Dallas County Criminal Court No. 10, a family violence court.
Many of my colleagues and friends know me as Monique J. Bracey, the wife of Attorney Douglas Huff. As the owner of Monique J. Bracey, Attorney at Law PC, I served as the sole attorney providing criminal defense services to those accused of violations of the law. I was born in Dallas, Texas and grew up in Mesquite, Texas. I went to undergraduate school at Florida A & M University before returning to Dallas to get my law degree at Southern Methodist University, Dedman School of Law. For twelve years, I have worked as a lawyer defending members of the community charged with breaking the law in Dallas County. I provided legal services to the indigent as an appointed attorney in Dallas County as well as those that hired me privately.
I began my professional career obtaining a BS of Political Science and BS of Social Work. As I worked for my degrees, I worked in domestic violence shelters and provided counseling for victims and those in need of services. As I was completing my law degree at SMU Dedman School of Law, I interned with the Dallas County District Attorney's Office in their newly created Family Violence Division as well as worked in a local domestic violence shelter with victims needing emergency housing. After I obtained my law degree, I worked as a defense attorney defending those charged with all levels of family violence crimes. My unique experience has allowed me to see all sides of the family violence dynamic that troubles our communities. Most importantly, I believe that as a Judge in a family violence court, I can bring this knowledge and experience to the justice system.
I believe that I can assist OUR community by running an efficient Court that brings compassion, rehabilitation, and healing to victims and the accused alike.
In my first term, I was dedicated to making the court efficient and eliminating the court's backlog. I wanted all Defendants to have their day in Court and all victims have the opportunity to receive completion through final disposition of cases. I am proud that my staff and court partners have been committed to this goal; and Court No. 10 is successful in achieving it EVERY day!!!
Any successes have only been achieved through YOUR support. I thank you, and I am asking for your support again to re-elect me as Judge of Dallas County Criminal Court No. 10.
Thank you for your time and interest, and I look forward to meeting you.
